Who is Sinterklaas?

Sinterklaas is a national celebration in the Netherlands. The character is similar to Santa Claus. On December 5, we celebrate his birthday by giving presents. On Nov. 18, Sinterklaas arrives in the Netherlands on his steamboat from Spain. The children are then allowed to put up their shoe several times in front of the chimney. At night Sinterklaas comes with his helpers ( 'Pieten' ) through the chimney to put a present in the shoes.

Pieten Disco | Friday night

Sing along with all Sinterklaas songs! Please note, Sinterklaas arrives in the Netherlands on November 18. So on Friday 17th of November it is not a Pietendisco but a Mini Disco.


Place your shoe at the fireplace and find a surprise the next morning | Saturday night

*Knock, Knock* Who's knocking there? All kids can place their shoe at the fireplace. Let's check the following day if Sinterklaas has come by to bring a present.


Pieten Obstacle Course & App Treasure Hunt | Entire weekend

Climb and scramble on the Pieten obstacle course and do the exciting treasure hunt via your smartphone.
